John (born 27 December 1749, died 19 January 1815) and Charles (born about 1762, died 1837) are the first generation to have children born in South Carolina. Chapters include Ancestors of Charles Humphries (d. 1837) followed by chapters for the first through ninth generations, and “Uncle Dan” Humphries.
