J. B. has served as president of the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas and is one of the longest tenured sheriffs in the state, having continuously been elected since 1976. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas in Tyler and is a graduate of the National FBI Academy.
