Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White hardcover book copyright 1952 Weekly Reader edition. In good used condition for age. Has some wear to cover and writing in pen on the inside cover and first cover page. I’ve included a Literature Unit Study from abcteach dot com. It has questions for each chapter and some literature discussion. Sample questions from the first two chapters are 1) After his great opening sentence, E.B. White sets the scene so quickly that within moments we’re immersed in the story. Look at the first four paragraphs. Just for fun, count how many words they have. 2) Now list all the details you already know just from those few words. For instance, what kind of room are the characters probably in? Where is this room–a factory, a school, where? What time of day is it? Why is Papa carrying the ax? Are there any other interesting details? 3) When Avery first walks in, what kind of boy do you think he is? Why? and so on. In the Writer’s Craft section, Vivid is discussed, and then it tells you to read first two paragraphs of Chap 3 and answer 1) Wow! All those smells! List a few special barn smells he describes. 2) Before you read this story, would you have thought a barn smelled good? Now that you’ve read this part, would you want to visit a barn? and so on.See pictures. Email with any questions.
